
When Governor Paterson signed Elle's Law on August 13, 2010, New York became one of only 13 states to have reckless driving laws specific to pedestrian accidents. If you live in one of the 37 states without such protection, please write your state representatives urging them to introduce and pass a law to protect pedestrians from reckless drivers. We've even made it easy for you to do.
Below is a list of states without reckless driving laws at this time. If you see the name of your state below, click on the link to get the email addresses of your state representatives. You can then download the sample letter (also below), and send it to your state legislators by attaching it to your email. It won't take much time, but could help protect your community. Ask your friends and family members to write, too.
